About Us

St Louis has provided individualised aged care services in Adelaide for over 70 years.

Since then, our aged care services have grown to look after older Australians in Victor Harbor, the Fleurieu Peninsula and the Adelaide Hills. Our aged care services include our boutique nursing home in Parkside, with independent living units next door, and St Louis on Sea which provides specialised 24x7 dementia and respite care in an eight-room home on the beachfront at Victor Harbor.

We’re a third generation family business whose history began with the first nursing home in 1946. Our service to the community is about loving and caring for humanity and our approach to aged care is underpinned by our four values which are: dignity, respect, choice and fairness.

Fostering a culture of family values

Maris Naish who runs the business today is the third-generation administrator of St Louis. Throughout the history of our three generations, our family members have been actively involved in St Louis spending time with residents and developing an understanding of how to foster a culture of care with family values.

The sense of family at St Louis is valued and maintained by both staff and residents. We live by our motto “Let our family help look after yours”.

Home care and aged care services built on a foundation of trust and respect

St Louis is a respected and well-known quality aged care provider in Victor Harbor and Adelaide. The culture at St Louis has been created by staff, residents and clients in partnership, and is built upon a foundation of respect, kindness and compassion.

When selecting staff to work at St Louis, professional qualifications are essential and so is a genuine desire to be a care worker. This quality enables us to continue fostering the family environment that we have. As a team we are committed to:

  • Encouraging independence
  • Encouraging participation in everyday life
  • Listening to and building meaningful relationships with our clients
  • Staying focussed on living independently
  • Facilitating the social physical and emotional wellbeing of each client
  • Demonstrating respect, tolerance and acceptance
  • Demonstrating social responsibility and a care for others

Quality governance across all aspects of aged care

With our long history in providing aged care services, the secret to our success has been a solid foundation which supports innovation. We embrace new technologies to connect families and residents more effectively, we stay across social change and we invite new initiatives that will help us better deliver our care.

Consumer Directed Care is at the core of our service and our residents and clients know they have the final say in their care. Our staff are well versed in consumer directed care and support our clients and residents to maintain their independence as much as possible.
