John hasn’t laughed so much in years with his new social group outings on the Fleurieu
John, 77, had been living on his own and independently for several years on lovely Hindmarsh Island, with the support of his two daughters who visit on a regular basis. John was quite comfortable with cooking, home maintenance and looking after his garden. He was very grateful for the love and care he was getting from his family but was missing social connection with people his own age.
He wanted to meet some new people and make new friends and acquaintances on the Fleurieu.
How home care helped John

Since joining St Louis, John has told us that the St Louis social club in Victor Harbor has made a huge difference, and he hadn’t laughed so much in years. Although John loves the bus trips to Adelaide, he mostly enjoys exploring the Fleurieu Peninsula and discovering places he didn’t know about.
John also used his home care package to help with domestic duties. He appreciates St Louis Care workers attending to tasks at home that he needs some help with, and always insists they finish their shift with a cuppa!
