Dementia Care in Port Elliot

Dementia care is integrated in our home care service for our clients in Port Elliot. We customise a home care plan to include services needed to specifically support the person living at home with dementia. For people needing additional care, we now offer residential dementia and respite care at our eight-bed residence, St Louis On Sea in Victor Harbor. St Louis on Sea is a specialist nursing home located right across the road from the beach. Our carers are trained in the Montessori approach to aged care and dementia care.

St Louis established Australia's first dementia-specific community aged care packages in 2003 for low level care at home, and extended this to high level care at home in 2006.

Our registered nurses and care staff are all thoroughly trained in the provision of care to those living with dementia and the organisation is constantly reviewing and integrating the latest best practice dementia care techniques available.
